ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Joseph C. De Ladurantey is a retired Chief of Police for the City of Irwindale, California. He has also served as the Chief of Police of Torrance, California, served as the Law Enforcement Liaison for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and 27 years with the Los Angeles Police Department achieving the rank of Captain. With over 40 years in law enforcement he brings a broad scope experience and administrative insight into the academic environment as well as any organization desirous of upgrading their standards and enhancing their level of professionalism.
He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Public Administration in the Graduate School of Public Administration at Cal State College, Northridge for over 20 years, teaching courses in Public Policy, Organizational Theory and Human Behavior, Strategic Management, Human Resources Management and Public Administration and its Environment. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at Cal State Los Angeles, Rio Hondo College, The University of Southern California, Cal Poly Pomona and a guest lecturer at the University of La Verne.
He is President of JCD & Associates, Inc. specializing in consultation to state and local agencies and the private sector on Organizational Development, Strategic Planning, managing change, employee motivation, leadership and supervisory development. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Cal State Long Beach and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Southern California. He received a doctoral degree in Public Administration and Public Management at the University of La Verne. His doctoral dissertation: “Creating Public Value Through Collaboration” has been published and portions of the manuscript have been adopted for separate publication in several professional journals. He has been recognized as a Fellow by the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA) and presented papers at their annual conference. He has published two textbooks, written several articles for professional publications and is in possession of too many unfinished manuscripts for other books. He recently published his first crime novel, “Cowards, Crooks, and Warriors.”
Since 2011 he has hosted a radio show “Making Your Memories” on Orange County radio station KSBR, 88.5 FM specializing in Rock & Roll and Doo Wop music of the 1950’s and early 60’s.
He resides with his wife Sandra in San Juan Capistrano, California.
