"Doesn't miss a beat!"

This is a thoroughly good read that treats the reader to a police officer with thoroughly human emotions, ethics and character. Office "HH" Howard Hamilton of the Orchard Hills Police Department copes in a compelling style with the unexpected deaths of three fellow officers, while finding himself in the middle of a murder mystery that keeps the reader guessing until the very last page. Most of all, the author creates an "everyman" with whom everyone can identify, a man who loves his family and is loyal to his police brothers and sisters, I read a lot---this book deserves a five-star rating!

"Great behind the scenes look at police work."

For cops, the story will sound familiar however for nonlaw enforcement it will introduce them to a slice of what it realistically looks like to be a street cop. The author has done a terrific job in painting an environment in which one feels like the invisible person at the scene. This story follows the life of a uniformed street cop who is loaned to detectives for a special homicide case which is singularly unique. You can feel the anxiety of this cop as he struggles to meet the demands of his career and his family. Great read!
